Automatic Ice - Block Ice Makers
AIS offers three different types of block ice makers. Each type is for relatively low volume applications. One type freezes 7-lb to 15-lb blocks of ice in stainless steel cans, another type freezes 10-lb blocks in specialty designed bags and the last type freezes ultra-clear 275-lb blocks used to make ice carvings.
Star Block Makers
These star block makers freeze blocks inside stainless steel cans which are submerged in a food-grade anti-freeze bath. These corrosion resistant units have both a stainless steel interior and exterior. . Two capacity sizes are available and each can be purchased with either a self-contained or remote condensing unit. These versatile block makers are available with a 7 Lb. / 11 lb., 12 ½ Lb. or 15 Lb. can size, and will harvest blocks twice per day (see capacity chart for blocks per harvest).

Fill & Freeze Block Makers
These convenient, hassle-free block makers let you freeze blocks in specialty-designed plastic bags; this eliminates the need for glycol solution, circulating pump and freezing cans. To make a block, an operator simply fills the specialty bag with the designated weight of water, seals the bag, and places it in the freezing chamber. The B56 model will harvest 56 eleven-pound-blocks (4” x 8 ¾” x10”) once or twice per day, depending on condensing unit size. The S60 “Snow-Cone” Model makes 60 ten pound blocks, measuring 5 ½” x 5 ½’ x 11”, per harvest.

Carving Block Maker
This block maker produces crystal clear blocks of ice measuring 10” x 20” x 40” and weighing approximately 275 Lbs. It will produce two blocks of ice every three days. Blocks are frozen in a plastic liner and can be placed inside a cardboard box for storage and delivery.

Carving Block Tilt Cart
This convenient carving block accessory is designed specifically for use with the Carving Block Maker. Its convenient roll-around and easy-tilt design makes the handling and packaging of carving blocks a cinch.
Carving Block Manual Shaver
This device is an inexpensive alternative to the power shaver. In order to trim the high edges and yield a square-top an operator repeatedly pushes the shaver over the harvested block while it sets on the tilt cart. Trimming the top of the block allows producers to package and sell carving blocks in a box.
Carving Block Power Shaver
This machine makes trimming carving blocks easy. Simply turn on the unit and push it over the harvested block while it sets on the tilt cart. The shaver will trim the high edges and yield a perfectly square-top with little or no impressions left on the block. This machine saves time and yields a quality product for high volume producers that package and sell carving blocks in a box.
Carving Block Hoist
This easy to use hoist is designed specifically for use with the Carving Block Maker and Tilt Cart. Simply roll the base of the hoist between the support legs of the Carving Block Maker, secure the lifting bar to the frozen-in lifter plates and lift with minimal effort. The lifted block can then be transferred to the semi-integrated Tilt Cart for easy packaging.
